Did you think I forgot?
No way. Been thinking about it all week. But, given the fact that I have been “lucky” enough to have received a “promotion” (acting) and I was getting ready for surgery (including no medicines, vitamins or vino!), I haven’t had a chance to sit down and type. That whole work/life balance was thrown out the window.
But, never fear. The Lortab has worn off and I’m ready to type.
One word about being in the hospital today though. I feel lucky.
Yup.
Lucky.
Why? Who the hell feels lucky when they go to the hospital? Here’s my top 4 reasons. I had more, but am pretty sure I lost a few brain cells today when they put me out…
1) I had a loving husband that drove me there, worried about me the entire time, then drove me home and took care of me…and the kids.
2) There was wifi
3) Everyone there was so caring and supportive of each other. I was next to a woman in pre-op who was having surgery to remove a lump. Or, more correctly, ANOTHER lump. Yet, she took a minute as she was being wheeled by to wish ME luck.
If you pray, pray for her, please.
4) Mine was minor, only took a couple hours, and I love my doctor
So, that is why I feel lucky today.
Oh, and one other note, Lortab sucks. Just made me nauseous and didn’t even take away the pain. Wasn’t until I got into good, old-fashioned ibuprofen that I started feeling better.
But, I digress.
Here is the most spectacular photo in the collection as of this moment. He was a big boy, flew onto that rock and sat there. Patiently…
