Today is a special day.
Today is the day Heather from Kustom Kissers makes the transition from “Working Stiff” to “Full-Time Fabulous”.
I envy her on so many levels. She knows what she wants to do with her life and has figured out how to make that dream a reality.
How many of us can say that? Do you wake up and go to work and have all “sunshine and rainbows and unicorns”? (That is how Heather describes her Kustom Kissers work, by the way). Or is it “just a job”? ”Something to pay the bills”? ”Something you do as little as possible of just to get you to the weekend”?
Why do we do that to ourselves? Is it that we don’t take the time to really figure out what our unique gifts are? What we really have to contribute to the world? That one thing that is going to make your time fly by when you are doing it…that job where you look up, see it is 5 o’clock and say, “shoot, I just want to do a couple more things” rather than “woo hooo, I’m off to happy hour”? Or even worse, you look at the clock and think (or say) , “suck it, I’m out”.
In honor of Ms. Heather, I vow this year to spend time truly listening to the way the Universe is guiding me. Not ignoring the signs.
Sleepless nights and pits in my stomach and yelling matches=bad.
Sunshine and rainbows and unicorns=good.
Congratulations, Heather. You are an inspiration (and a good friend!) While I am happy for you, my lips are dry and sad.

Right now the Universe is telling you to buy a ticket to Blissdom. Oh wait, that could just be me. Thank you for writing such a nice post. I’ll miss seeing you in the office every day but know there are much better things in store for both of us. See you soon!
